Our church is blessed with two United Methodist Women in Faith Circles. These ladies work together in a variety of missions and ministries, serving our local community, as well as reaching around the world.

The women also enjoy meaningful fellowship and share in devotions together, growing in faith and friendship as they support one another and serve others.

JOY (Just Older Youth) is our senior adult ministry for those who enjoy faith, friendship, and fun. They meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month for a time of fellowship, games, a devotional message, and a delicious lunch.

JOY provides a wonderful opportunity to build lasting friendships, grow in faith, and enjoy quality time together in a loving and welcoming atmosphere. All those age 55-ish and older are invited to attend.  

Our UMYF, United Methodist Youth Fellowship, provides a space for middle and high school students to grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and serve the community. Through Bible studies, fun events, and service projects, we empower youth to live out their faith in everyday life.

The Children’s Program offers a nurturing environment where kids can learn about God’s love through engaging lessons, creative activities, and fun-filled worship. We’re committed to helping children grow spiritually and develop a strong foundation in faith.

Beersheba Springs Assembly is owned by the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church. This historic and picturesque mountaintop property houses a pre-civil war hotel, chapel, outdoor sanctuary, and mountain overlook.

Beersheab Springs Assembly is a place of hospitality and beauty, that offers a welcoming environment where people can connect with God, grow in faith, build relationships and create meaningful memories.

Stephen Ministry equips trained, compassionate church members to provide one-on-one care and support to those going through life’s challenges. This confidential ministry ensures no one walks alone in their time of need.

Our Men’s Church Softball Team enjoys great fellowship, friendly competition, and plenty of fun on the field. More than just playing the game, the team strives to represent our church with integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship.

Through every game, they seek to honor Christ by encouraging one another, and demonstrating a positive Christian example. We are proud of the way they represent our church both on and off the field.

We are honored to sponsor a local Girl Scout troop and provide a welcoming place for them to meet. Through this partnership, the girls not only gather at GUMC but they also become an active part of our church family by participating in several of our ministries and community events.

We value the opportunity to encourage their growth in leadership, service, and character while building meaningful relationships within our congregation. We are grateful to support these young ladies as they learn, serve, and grow.

Music is a special part of worship at our church, and we are truly blessed with a very talented and dedicated choir.

Our gifted Choir Director, Kim Jones also faithfully serves as our pianist and keyboardist. Rex Howell, whose enthusiasm enriches our worship services with his drumming skills. Together, they create an atmosphere of praise that welcomes all to worship and experience God’s presence.

Our choir’s joyful spirit and beautiful music inspire and encourage us each week.

Our church family and friends come together for a joyful annual hayride filled with fellowship, fun, and food.

The evening concludes with roasting s’mores around the fire, and warming up with hot cocoa and warm apple cider. It’s a wonderful time of laughter, while making connections and lasting memories as we enjoy the beauty of autumn together.

Our church celebrates the Blessing of the Animals, a special ministry that honors the gift of creation and the joy our animal companions bring into our lives. This gathering offers an opportunity to give thanks for God’s creatures and to pray for blessings of health, safety, and care for our beloved pets.

Each year, our church hosts a Blue Christmas Service for those who may find the Christmas season difficult. While Christmas is often celebrated as a joyful time, we recognize that it can also be a season of loneliness, grief, loss, illness, or heartache for many. This service provides a quiet, comforting space to acknowledge those feelings, reflect on God’s presence, and find hope in His love. Through Scripture, prayer, music, and candlelight, we gather to remember that even in life’s darkest moments, Christ is the Light who brings peace, comfort, and hope.

Our trained and certified Stephen Ministers are present during the service to offer a compassionate listening ear, encouragement, and confidential support for anyone who would like to talk or pray with someone.

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry is a heartfelt expression of God’s love, comfort, and care. Each shawl is lovingly handcrafted by members of our congregation. As it is knitted, the maker prays for the person who will one day receive it, asking God to surround them with His peace, strength, healing, and comfort.

Whether given during times of illness, grief, recovery, or other life challenges, each prayer shawl serves as a tangible reminder that the recipient is wrapped in God’s love and the prayers of our church family. It is our hope that every shawl brings warmth, encouragement, and the assurance that no one walks alone.

Our Annual Ice Cream Social is a fun-filled evening of fellowship, laughter, and delicious homemade ice cream and ice cream desserts—mixed with a little friendly competition. Each year a King or Queen of the Freezer is crowned following the results of the Ralph Covington Memorial Ice Cream Contest. This beloved longstanding tradition brings our church family together to enjoy a taste of summer and yesteryear.

The Sunday before Valentine’s Day is totally scrumptious, as we host the much-anticipated Chocolate Sunday. Thousands of bite-sized homemade chocolates are lovingly prepared and beautifully displayed, ready for you to select and box up for yourself or the special Valentines in your life.

Empty boxes are available for $5 each, allowing you to fill them with your own assortment of delicious chocolates, creating a personalized treat.

Chocolate Sunday is a fundraiser sponsored by the United Women in Faith (formerly United Methodist Women), with proceeds supporting their local and global missions and ministries.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of special worship services and musical presentations that celebrate the seasons of the Christian faith and provide meaningful opportunities for worship, reflection, and inspiration.

Pictured above is one of our Maundy Thursday services, a solemn and meaningful time of worship as we remember Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples and prepare our hearts for Easter.

Each year, our children joyfully share the story of Christ’s birth through a heartwarming Christmas pageant presented in the sanctuary. Family, friends and neighbors join us for this special evening as our children share the message of hope, love, and the true meaning of Christmas.

Following the presentation, the celebration with a festive Christmas party in the Fellowship Hall.

These amazing women are lovingly known as the “Lunch Ladies” of our senior adult ministry, JOY (Just Older Youth). On the first and third Tuesday of every month, they generously prepare and serve a delicious home-cooked meal for approximately 40–50 attendees. Their dedication, hospitality, and love shine through every dish, helping create a welcoming atmosphere of fellowship, friendship, and JOY around the table.

Throughout the Advent season, our church spreads the joy of Christmas by making weekly donations to charitable causes that bless our community and beyond. Each week provides an opportunity to share Christ’s love through small acts of kindness and generosity.

Our outreach includes creating Christmas cards for nursing home residents (pictured above), donating clothing and blankets to NorthCrest Newborns to support families welcoming new babies; to collecting food for local food banks; to providing school supplies for students in need; to monetary donations to COPE to many other gifts of compassion.

Through these simple acts of service, we celebrate the true spirit of Christmas by caring for our neighbors and sharing God’s love with those who need it most.

Our church is proud to be an active part of our community. We enjoy participating in local events and opportunities to serve, fellowship, and connect with our neighbors. Just as we love being involved in the community, we warmly welcome everyone to join us for the many events, ministries, and activities held at our church. We believe our church is a place where everyone is welcome, and we are blessed to share God’s love with our community.

Throughout the year, our church family gathers together for fellowship meals and special celebrations. We give thanks for God’s many blessings as we welcome new members, celebrate holidays, honor our graduates, and recognize other meaningful milestones in the lives of our church family. These gatherings provide opportunities to share a meal, strengthen friendships, celebrate one another, and grow together in faith and fellowship.

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt brings an extra special surprise for our children—the Bunny Shoppe! After the egg hunt, children can bring the coins they discover in their eggs to the Bunny Shoppe and “shop” for their own special treasures. The shop is filled with toys, trinkets, candy, books, balls, bubbles, and cuddly stuffed animals for them to choose from. It’s a fun and memorable Easter tradition that brings smiles, excitement, and plenty of joy to our youngest members.

We are a Bible-based church with deep roots and a strong faith in God. At the heart of our church family is our love for Christ and for one another—a love that strengthens our faith, unites us in fellowship, and helps us grow together.

We believe church is more than a place of worship; it is a place where friendships are formed, memories are made, and faith is shared. Whether we are gathered in God’s house for worship or enjoying one another’s company in the fellowship hall, we love spending time together. We worship together, serve together, celebrate together—and, of course, we always make time for plenty of fun and laughter along the way!

Our church may not be huge, but we are mighty! Together we work in faith, love, and service! With joyful hearts, we share the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout our community and around the world.

Through numerous ministries and mission opportunities, our church family strives to be the hands and feet of Christ, reaching out to those in need both near and far. Whether you are looking for ways to become involved in church and local community ministries or have a heart for helping those across the globe, there is a place for you here.

The Advent and Christmas season holds a very special place in the life of our church. Each December, we joyfully prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ through worship, music, fellowship, and meaningful traditions.

Throughout the season, our church family comes together for a variety of special services, events, and activities, including but not limited to:

These special gatherings give us opportunities to worship, celebrate, serve, and share the joy of Christ with one another and our community. Advent and Christmas are truly a cherished time of faith, fellowship, and celebration in our church family.

Our Youth Group, with a little help from some talented carpenters, built, sponsors, and maintains an on-site Blessing Box to help provide food and essential supplies to those in need. The Blessing Box is stocked with nonperishable food items, household supplies, and other necessities that neighbors can take as needed.

Through this ministry, our youth are putting their faith into action by serving others and sharing God’s love in a very tangible way. Their goal is simple but meaningful: to help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

The United Methodist Women are an active and treasured part of the life of our church. While serving together in mission, fundraising, hosting fellowship meals, wedding showers, meetings, and other special events, these women have formed strong bonds of friendship and sisterhood.

Their ministry extends beyond the walls of the church as they enjoy spending time together, sharing laughter, encouraging one another, and supporting each other through life’s joys and challenges. Whether serving others, gathering around the table, or simply enjoying one another’s company, these “sisters in Christ” are a wonderful example of faith, friendship, and fellowship.

Our church is rich in tradition, and the Lenten season is a deeply meaningful time in the life of our congregation. Throughout Lent and Holy Week, we gather for solemn and moving services that invite us to reflect on Christ’s sacrifice and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. These include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday services.

Holy Week culminates in the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Savior—Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

One of our most cherished Easter traditions takes place on Easter morning. Members of our congregation bring flowers from home and place them on the cross of Jesus. As the morning unfolds, the once-empty cross bursts forth with beautiful color and new life—a powerful symbol of the resurrection and the hope we have through Christ.

Our UMYF Youth Group hosts an annual Trunk or Treat on the grounds of Greenbrier UMC, creating a fun and festive event for children and families in our community.

Church members line the parking lot with creatively and whimsically decorated car trunks, filling the evening with colorful displays, sweet treats, laughter, and Halloween fun. Everyone in the is invited to join us for a safe, family-friendly celebration and enjoy the fellowship of our church family.

Our church loves the joyful sound of children’s laughter! We believe children bring a special energy and joy to our church family, and we love creating opportunities for them to learn, grow, fellowship, and simply have fun together.

The photo above was taken at one of our Vacation Bible School kickoff events. This particular celebration featured two inflatable water slides, an inflatable obstacle course, and delicious snow cones! It was an afternoon filled with laughter, excitement, fellowship, and plenty of happy memories.

We are grateful for every opportunity to share God’s love with our children and their families—and we’re always happy to hear those little voices and joyful giggles around our church!

Our church is proud to be a strong and faithful supporter of our local schools. We believe in investing in our students, teachers, nurses, librarians, coaches, and staff—and we look for meaningful ways to serve and encourage them throughout the year.

Our support has included donating school supplies, helping fulfill the wish lists of school nurses, providing refreshments for special events, purchasing signs for the football and baseball fields, sponsoring fundraisers, and so much more.

Our United Methodist Women (UMW) also support young readers by presenting a donation to the elementary school librarian each year to ensure that every child has the money to purchase a book at the Book Fair.

Our church offers Sunday School classes for all ages, providing an opportunity to grow in faith, learn about God’s plans, and discover the stories of Scripture together.

We are grateful for our dedicated and faithful Sunday School teachers who lovingly share their time, knowledge, and faith with others each week.

Our church is proud to support the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee and its mission of building awareness, inclusion, and support.

Each year, we proudly sponsor the Notorious L&T Team at The Extra Mile Buddy Walk as Lucas and Thomas, along with family and friends, come together to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee.

We are honored to walk alongside Lucas, Thomas, and their family in support of this wonderful organization and the important work they do for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

At the beginning of each school year, we celebrate Education Sunday, when we recognize our students and educators during our worship services.. We present each student and teacher with a special backpack tag. We offer a blessing over them as school starts, and ask God to guide, protect, and strengthen them throughout the year.

Education Sunday also gives us the perfect opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for our dedicated and faithful Sunday School teachers. We are thankful for the commitment as they nurture, teach, and inspire our family of faith.

Our Back-to-School Splash swim parties have been a favorite tradition for generations! It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the end of summer, enjoy fellowship, and send our children into a new school year with plenty of fun and laughter.

Most recently, our annual Splash has been held at the Robertson County YMCA, where everyone can cool off and enjoy an afternoon of swimming and fellowship.

Our church is truly blessed with leaders who bring joy, warmth, and a wonderful sense of humor to our congregation. They lead with faithful hearts, serve with enthusiasm, and are always willing to go the extra mile for our church family.

We are grateful for their dedication, their servant hearts, and the lighthearted spirit they bring to everything they do. We are blessed to have leaders who not only lead us in faith, but also know how to have a little fun along the way.

Our Vacation Bible School brings the Bible to life through interactive lessons, entertaining characters, and engaging actors who help make each story memorable and meaningful.

At Greenbrier United Methodist Church, we love helping people deepen their relationship with Christ. Baptism is a particularly special part of our faith and a joyful celebration for our church family.

Whether it is the baptism of an infant, a child, or an adult, we rejoice with each individual and family as they take this meaningful step of faith. Each baptism is a beautiful reminder of God’s love, grace, and the lifelong journey of faith.

We celebrate every life dedicated to God and are honored to share in these sacred moments.

One of our recent church-wide craft projects was creating Resurrection Gardens. It was a joyful day of fellowship as people of all ages came together to design and construct their very own garden in preparation and celebration of Easter. 

Such beautiful and unique gardens were created. They serve as a reminder of the empty tomb, the hope and joy, and the new life we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the greatest story ever told—He is risen!
